Founded in 2001, Eocycle has been at the forefront in design and manufacture of permanent magnet electric generators (PMG) using the transverse flux topology and applying this technology to wind turbines. Several studies have demonstrated that transverse flux permanent magnet (TFPM) generators produce higher power and torque at lower rotational speeds, making them uniquely well suited for wind turbines and other renewable energy equipment.
In 2008, Eocycle evolved into a more integrated company through the addition to its product portfolio of a 25kW wind turbine via a strategic alliance with TML and Turbowinds of Belgium. This alliance takes advantage of the complementary expertise, experience and innovations of Eocycle, TML and Turbowinds, not only in key and critical wind turbine component design and manufacture, but also in overall wind turbine design and manufacture.
The considerable progress in transverse flux permanent magnet generator technology achieved by Eocycle over the last 10 years, and its evolution into a fully integrated wind turbine company, is the result of the constant involvement and determination of its staff. But equally important has been the support of Eocycle's shareholders, and in particular of the two main shareholders, Desjardins Venture Capital and Cycle Capital.
