Recent advances in materials science have made Éocycle’s high-performance
generators unique configuration possible. A single stator winding coil,
perpendicular to the axis of rotation, is used for each stator phase in a transverse
field configuration. Éocycle solved the problem formerly associated with transverse
flux machines by using a toothed rotor equipped with Nd-Fe-B magnets and
a combination of laminated steel and SMC (Soft Magnetic Composite) parts
to guide the magnetic flux. The result is a high number of poles for a high torque
level and a large and simplified winding window for cool operation.
